2026 Subaru Solterra Coming Soon to Bob Moore Subaru

Subaru entered the EV game in 2023 with the Solterra, and while it had good bones, it had its critics. Subaru aims to silence its critics with the 2026 Solterra, introducing 25% more range, increased horsepower, and a new performance-oriented trim level. The Solterra also replaces the old CCS port with a NACS (North American Charging Standard) port, allowing the Solterra to access more charging stations, including Tesla Superchargers. Under the hood, they’ve increased the charging speed from 100 kW to 150 kW, while also increasing the overall battery capacity. If that’s not enough to sell you on the Subaru EV, the exterior gets a facelift, including a new fascia, spoiler, and lighting. All told, the Solterra jumps from a middle-of-the-road EV to a top dog in the space, making it a much more competitive option. While it has adopted the EV aesthetic, the Solterra remains true to the Subaru ethos, complete with all-wheel drive (AWD) and ample cargo space. 2026 Solterra Range and Charging

The Subaru Solterra is powered by two motors, one located on the front axle and the other on the rear, enabling Subaru’s EV AWD platform. It gets 233 horsepower, an increase of 18 horses compared to the last production run. The new Subaru XT trim level gets 338 horsepower, and should rev from 0 to 60 in about five seconds. Other improvements include modifications to the suspension and electric power steering, which help improve handling and response. As you’d expect, the Solterra comes equipped with X-MODE and modes for Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud. You’ll also find a Grip Control and Downhill Assist mode. All told, the Solterra excels in a wide range of harsh conditions. The Solterra now features a 75 kWh battery, providing a driving range of 285 miles. As mentioned, charge speed is also increased from 100 kW to 150 kW. 

2026 Subaru Solterra Trim Levels & Interior

We expect to see the Solterra in five trim levels. Four trim levels carry over from last year, while the trim topping Solterra XT is a new addition. Pricing has not been confirmed yet, but we expect the Solterra to sit from $40,000 to $50,000. Like previous models, we expect the Solterra to qualify for the full $7,500 federal tax credit, making it one of the more affordable EVs on the market. Your trim level options include:

We don’t have the full breakdown of what to expect between each trim level, but the Limited should be a popular selection, featuring 20-inch wheels, faux-leather seats, a heated steering wheel, additional parking sensors, and a power-operated liftgate. Models get increasingly posh from there, adding extra tech features, heated seats, and more aesthetic options. We expect to see the Solterra retain about the same cargo volume as the outgoing model, with 23.8 cubic feet in the rear and up to 63.5 cubic feet with the rear row folded. New Subaru Solterra Tech and Safety Features

The Solterra introduces a brand-new infotainment system, joining the growing list of new features, which occupies 14 inches of real estate on the dashboard. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard. Two wireless phone chargers are also included, one for the passenger and the other for the driver. USB-C ports are included in the rear row. Part of the Subaru identity is a robust safety system, so the Solterra comes standard with adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, and automated emergency braking. 2026 Subaru Solterra Release Date
