As a proud member of the Oklahoma City community, Bob Moore Subaru is continually seeking ways to give back to the community. Our job is to live up to the Subaru Love Promise, demonstrated by showing love and respect to all people through every interaction. Sometimes, we deliver on that promise when doing business; other times, we look for ways to extend that promise beyond our dealership. That’s why we’ve partnered with the Oklahoma City Zoo to fund the Bob Moore Subaru Making Tracks Program. This partnership with the OKC Zoo focuses on educating elementary school children while providing them with lifelong memories. Making Tracks takes kids out of the classroom and allows them to have encounters with animals as they begin to learn about the environment and ecosystems around them. Hands-on experiences like this help forge better learning opportunities in a field trip environment. If you’re a teacher and would like to learn more about the program and how we can get your class to the zoo, contact Bob Moore Subaru OKC!
We started this partnership with the OKC Zoo in the Summer of 2024, part of a joint effort between Bob Moore Subaru and the Zoo. It’s geared towards third-grade students, which is when the Oklahoma curriculum starts to emphasize ecology and biology. Our program begins in the classroom, with students forming groups to work on an animal research project before heading to the zoo. While at the zoo, staff will take them on a guided field trip, and the students will be provided with workbooks to complete. In the days following the zoo visit, our curriculum is filled with projects to help them continue learning and contextualize their trip. Since its inception, we’ve served thousands of Oklahoma third graders who have loved their trip to the zoo!

The Making Tracks program is still in its infancy, less than a year old! During that time, we’ve reached thousands of students while raising nearly half a million dollars in endowments to fund the partnership. That’s half of our $1 million five-year pilot goal. That’s just the beginning, though, as we already of over 1,000 more students set to visit the zoo across 2025, with bookings continuing to fill up! We’re not limited to the OKC area, either; we serve Oklahoma, as well as Cleveland, McClain, Logan, Pottawatomie, Canadian, Lincoln, Grady, and Kingfisher counties.
Are you interested in bringing your class to the zoo? Bob Moore Subaru would love to host you! The program is open to public schools, but is limited to third-grade students. If you are unable to bring your class to the zoo, we also have a virtual experience that can be done with your kids in the classroom. Applications are considered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
