How
Can I Tell If My Brakes Need Service?
When you are driving, your brakes themselves can tell you
they need work, if you notice signs like:
- Evidence of a brake fluid leak on the
ground.
- Your brake light or ABS light illuminates
and stays lit up.
- You feel shaking when you apply the brakes.
- When you press down on the brake pedal, it
doesn't move or the brakes feel stiff.
- To stop in time, you have to apply brakes
much further back from the stopping point, or it takes much longer to stop.
If you have noticed any of these clues and you feel you need
brake service, go online and schedule an appointment or give us a call or come
by and let us get you safely back on the road.
Brake Fluid Exchange
The Subaru braking system relies on hydraulics to generate resistance between the brake pads and rotors. The lifeblood of the braking system is the brake fluid that provides the transfer of stopping power through the system when you press the brake pedal. Brake fluid is an excellent hydraulic due to its chemical properties; however, brake fluid has two significant limitations - 1. it easily absorbs water that contaminates the fluid and renders it to be a poor hydraulic; and 2. it will leak if a brake part has excessive wear or damages.
Braking System Inspection
Service includes a certified technician with extensive training performing a thorough and comprehensive evaluation of the Subaru braking system, including brake lines, both front, and rear brake pads, master cylinder, brake fluid, calipers, and rotors.
Brake Pad Replacement
When it comes to Subaru brake pads' maintenance, we do it all no matter what brake pads are worn. We provide front or rear brake pad replacement as needed to maximize efficiency and cut long-term operational costs. We also provide a full brake pad replacement including all of the vehicle's brake pads. Allow our certified technician to remove your vehicle's brake pads, inspect the braking system completely, and install genuine OEM brake pads from our parts department.
Brake Rotor Resurfacing or Replacement
Brake rotor maintenance requires an inspection backed by training and expertise in making an accurate service recommendation. Brake rotors can receive resurfacing that restores specifications to the disc by removing a small portion of the face. Resurfacing can only restore specifications to rotors with minor grooves or scratching but not for damage. If a rotor is deeply grooved, bent, or warped, the rotor requires replacement to secure specifications.
