As we start to see 2025 models flood our lot, we figured it would be helpful to break down the updates to two of our best-selling models, the Subaru Outback and the Subaru Legacy. Both models have been stalwarts of the Subaru lineup for decades, offering unparalleled versatility. Embraced by the adventurous, Subaru continues to innovate, adding additional features throughout the lineup while staying true to the practical, outdoorsy ethos. Both the Legacy and the Outback feature the same starting MSRPs as the outgoing 2024 models. While prices rise nationwide, we want to make getting behind a brand-new Subaru affordable for everyone. 2025 Subaru Outback Updates & Features

The 2025 Outback continues to deliver an excellent value proposition to consumers who want SUV space in a vehicle that handles like a car. The Outback SUV comes standard with 8.7 inches of ground clearance, AWD, Active Torque Vectoring, X-MODE with Hill Descent Control, and Vehicle Dynamics Control, making the Outback smoother than ever. Whether on the open road or the trail, the Outback knows how to handle itself. Last year, the Outback earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s TOP SAFETY PICK award, headlined by class-leading front crash prevention. More than just safe, the Outback is durable. 97% of all Outbacks sold last year are on the road today. The 2025 Outback sports a standard 2.5-liter engine that makes 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque. Higher-level trim levels like the Wilderness and XT come equipped with a turbocharged 2.4-liter  engine that provides 260 horses and 277 lb-ft of torque. You’ll find the Outback available in nine different trim levels, with the most changes this year coming to the Outback Limited. This year, the Limited gets a heated steering wheel, a power moonroof, and a distraction mitigation system. All trim levels will get the award-winning EyeSight Driver Assist system in 2025.
